Christians Mourn Bhutto’s Death

The Christian Post is reporting today that Christians are lamenting the death of Bhutto.  And the NY Times has an obituary on her.  No mention of a faith in Jesus though.

Hmmm, Now About My Journey

Well it’s been two days since I began this blog and I have to say that I am really cherishing not exercising until the New Year.  I decided that if I was going to make a huge life change I may as well enjoy not exercising for a few more days because after that, I will be walking daily.

Technically, I already walk daily, just by virtue of having legs, but being an intentional exerciser is something different.  It’s really like deciding to eat smaller meals, read my bible daily and also all of those regular things we all do everyday.  Basically it’s making a new good habit.

And I know that with the Lord’s help and prayer and encouragement, it is possible. With God all things are possible.

And I finally found the color too!

General Hospital & Sony’s Fashion Encounter

Maurice Bernard who plays the mobster on General Hospital was in a funny scene today on General Hospital.  It made me laugh watching this new fashion designer who was obviously gay hit on Sony.

Bernard played the hit pretty well.  Then they had Max get hit on too and that was very funny.  I think it’s funny because if you watch GH then you know  Max is Sony’s bodyguard and Sony is anything but gay.

But I think it’s typical for GH writers to write in stereotypes for roles.  It would be better if they thought out side of the box rather than be typical.

The other thing GH writers have done is dabble into the afterlife with both Emily and Alan appearing as ghosts to certain people.  Alan appears to Tracy, and Emily appears to Nickolas.  I’m not sure what the point of this is, but it is interesting to see  especially in light of all the New Age garbage people fall for.

Alli Makes You Run

Over the Christmas holiday I was talking to an already thin relative about how great she looked. I asked her what she did and she said she has been taking Alli and has already lost 20 pounds. My first thought was “You’ve got to be kidding…she’s already a twig and she’s taking this dumb weightloss product!”

Well, I admit that’s judgemental, however, it has come to mind that apparently most women who are twigs are usually taking this garbage and/or they are compulsive barfers. Okay, that may not be true, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

So then I was watching a television show today and they mentioned Alli and how it’s the only FDA approved diet pill on the market. But they also said this about the product…which actually made me laugh. It will you too.

The fat then passes harmlessly out of your body, which may cause bowel changes known as treatment effects, especially with meals containing more than 15 grams of fat. These effects may include:

  • gas with oily spotting
  • loose stools
  • more frequent stools that may be hard to control

To help manage these treatment effects, you should maintain a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet while following the alli program.

Gee, doesnt’t gas with oily spotting and loose stools sound wonderful!

And it also says on the website that you should become more active – YEAH running to the bathroom! Ha…

I’m taking the healthy route…exercise more, eat less.

Was Bhutto A Christian?

So today the big new is the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and honestly following the coverage of this today has been stressful.  It’s always hard to watch when a leader is murdered, and in this case, martyred.  However, one of the first things that came to my mind was this woman a Christian?  Did she know the Lord Jesus Christ and if not, what did she believe.

After doing a little searching on her, all I can figure is that she was favorable to Christians, and she may have been Catholic.  But I don’t know.  What I do know is that the Presidential candidates on both sides of the aisle are doing their best to make this tragedy a political event in their favor.

I watched Hillary Clinton talk about knowing her personally and her “two children” – however, Hillary apparently wasn’t that close because some reports I read said that Bhutto had “three” children, including that fountain of truth Wikipedia.

My other thought on this situation is that President Bush will eventually be blamed for this assassination attempt and the likely Islamic murderer who did this will get off and the “religion of peace” will once again be exalted.  We’ll see.

My Journey to 10,000 Steps

feet.jpeg

This is the beginning of my journey to 10,000 steps.

What exactly is this journey all about, well for me it’s a way to be accountable with my exercise, but for you it may be a way to become encouraged, inspired and interested in being a healthier person yourself.

This blog isn’t going to be all about exercise by any stretch of the imagination, simply because I am not an exercise. I’m a human being created wonderfully in God’s image and life is more than physical appearance.

However, it is important to be healthy, both spiritually, emotionally and physically. So we’ll see what happens, but I’m glad you’re here to join me.
